Who should we walk for?

Can we keep someone in our memories and prayers as we walk for you? If you would like us to honor or remember someone during the 3Day, please leave a comment after this message with the name of the person and whether they are currently fighting breast cancer, are a survivor of it, or if it is in their memory. We plan to put all these names on our shirts for the walk to remind us of why we walk.

Mariann Ingraham – survivor

Sue Morris – fighter

Catherine Golden – in loving memory

Judy Chamillard – survivor

Maggi Jacobs – in loving memory

Who I am walking for…

I am walking for all those women who have battled and overcome breast cancer.  I am walking for all those who ended up losing that battle.  I am walking for my future health, because who knows if I will have to battle this disease in the future.  For me this walk is more than walking 60 miles to raise money.  I am walking to remember those whom I know who have personally delt with this disease.   I am walking for Judy Chamillard, who is cancer free after just finishing treatment, and for Maggi Jacobs who lost her battle with breast cancer on the 22nd of January.

The BCS

While we’re on the topic of breast cancer, check out this site as another way to help. All you do is click on the big pink button once a day and the site’s sponsors pay for mammograms for underprivileged women in the US and elsewhere. They also have a cool store that sells lots of pink ribbon stuff, etc.

Registered BFFs

So you guys know me, when I get excited about something, I get hyper-focused and don’t do anything else for the next couple days. So, needless to say, I have spent the last 24 hours (minus my time with my boys) reading about the 3-Day, coming up with a team name, fundraising ideas, thinking about team shirts, blah, blah, blah. My one track mind has already ordered postcards and business cards with info for joining the team and donating, I’ve made a Facebook group, and now, THE BLOG! As people join the team, I plan on giving them author rights to this blog so they can write down their thoughts as the walk approaches too. Oh man, I am just a tad excited here!
